Anja Vogt, 5Gambit Disputes

Anja has extensive experience representing clients of various industry sectors, including energy, financial services, high-tech manufacturing, construction and retail in complex cross-border state–court and commercial arbitration proceedings. She often advises and represents clients in post-M&A, joint venture, corporate and general commercial disputes. In addition, Anja regularly represents clients in regulatory litigations as well as judicial assistance, administrative and white-collar criminal proceedings.

Anja is listed as «up and coming» arbitration counsel by Chambers Global (2024), as «next generation partner» in arbitration and «rising star» in litigation by Legal 500 (2024), recommended as future leader in commercial litigation by Who’s Who Legal (WWL) and awarded rising star in commercial arbitration at the IFLR Rising Star Awards EMEA 2022. In addition, she has been shortlisted for Commercial Arbitration Lawyer of the year and as Arbitration Rising Star for the Women in Business Law Awards 2023 EMEA.

Before founding 5Gambit Disputes in 2023, Anja was a partner with Niederer Kraft Frey in Zurich and worked as a foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb in London.

  • Acting for one of largest Swiss retailers in a commercial dispute in relation to post-M&A litigation brought in the aftermath of a takeover of a competitor.
  • Acting for one of the largest steel manufacturer in a EUR 200 million-shareholder dispute.

  • Acting for various ultra high net worth individuals against the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in relation to the de-freezing of assets under various sanctions regimes and the obtaining of licenses or negative clearance confirmations.
  • Acting for a Swedish defense contractor against the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) alleging the unlawful withdrawal of export control licenses.

International arbitration:

  • Acting for an international sports federation on a USD 80 million claim brought against it by one of its member association in relation to the hosting of an international event.
  • Acting for one of the leading global technology solutions provider in the food processing and air transportation industries in an ICC arbitration brought by a Swiss food manufacturer.
  • Acting for an international sports federation on a USD 320 million claim brought by a media rights distributor related to broadcasting rights for a global sports event.
  • Acting for one of the leading Asian private equity fund in a Swiss Rules arbitration concerning a post-M&A dispute related to a USD 80 million contract.
  • Acting for an Israeli-based biotech-company on its USD 180 million Swiss Rules arbitration claim brought against a US based services provider.
